HCCI recently completed the renovation of an existing 19,000 square foot building for Serra Toyota and approximately 22,000 square feet of new construction, consisting of a Service Center, Service Write-Up Area, and Used Car Center. The work was completed in phases to allow the dealership to continue operations while updates were underway. All new structures feature split-face masonry exterior walls, aluminum composite metal panels, and pre-engineered building structural framework.
Serra Hyundai of Birmingham, a recently renovated 9,776 square foot dealership, features a new EIFS exterior to reflect the Hyundai brand and colors, new metal stud, sheetrock and aluminum storefront partitions, and a Hyundai Icon Tower constructed of structural steel, metal studs and EIFS finish.
Freeland Chevrolet Superstore
HCCI recently completed major upgrades at Freeland Chevrolet in Nashville, Tennessee. The updated dealership reflects the updated Chevrolet brand image through renovated business offices, restrooms, customer lounge, and showroom. The upgraded showroom features new paint, acoustical ceilings, lighting, and ceramic tile flooring. The Chevrolet brand is reinforced on the exterior with the new Chevrolet entry element, which features Aluminum Composite Metal Panels.
Serra Honda of Sylacauga
Previously a Chevrolet dealership, the new Serra Honda of Sylacauga features 11,310 square feet of renovations reflecting the new Honda prototype design. The upgraded facility, which serves the Birmingham, Sylacauga, Montgomery, Mobile, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa areas, features new EIFS and Aluminum Composite Metal Panel exterior to reflect the Honda brand and colors and new metal stud, sheetrock and aluminum storefront partitions for the new floor plan layout. The interior features a 60’x10’ extension to the showroom, all new lighting and electrical, new plumbing for additional toilets, paint, acoustical ceiling, cabinets and countertops, carpet, VCT, and accent bands for ceramic tile flooring.
Montgomery Bell Pro Shop
The old clubhouse at Montgomery Bell State Park was torn down to make room for more than 13,000 square feet in an expanded, brand new clubhouse, pro‐shop, and restrooms. The structure consists of structural concrete and wood framing and post tension concrete slab with metal studs. The exterior features stone veneer, hardy board siding, and a metal roof. The expansive covered veranda consists of structural concrete. The new clubhouse features a snack bar, complete commercial kitchen, cart storage space, carpet and VCT flooring, and upgraded millwork items, such as window and door casings.
MTSU Dairy Farm
The new MTSU Dairy Farm, located on over 400 acres on Guy James Road in Murfreesboro, consists of a 20,000 square foot milking and housing facility supported by a 9,000 square foot farm maintenance shop, a 5,500 square foot hay barn, a 1,300 square foot , six bay commodity barn, two 4,000 bushel grain bins, and a new 2,700 foot concrete road to access the new barn.
The dairy’s features include a cow hospital and working facility, a double-eight parallel milking parlor with rapid-exit gates that can milk 16 cows at a time and a computer-controlled milking system with individual cow-ID and cow-activity measurements, real-time milk weights ,and milk-quality measurements. The milking system includes an in-line heat exchanger to precool the milk to 58 degrees before it enters a 2,000-gallon bulk tank, that further cools the milk to 38 degrees. The milking parlor is also flushed with a deck spray and two 750 gallon flush tanks that utilize the spent water from the heat exchanger to irrigate crops raised to feed the cows.
Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the old, 86,000 square foot Nissan Hippodrome building has been renovated as the new home of Nelson Mazda. Nelson Mazda has been granted a new exterior façade featuring metal panels, EFIS, new storefront glass, and Jewell Box on the upper level for car display.
The dealership is comprised of 13,000 square feet of offices, service area, and showroom on the main level; 11,200 square feet of service parking and wash bays on the upper level; and a 49,200 square foot basement that will house a parts warehouse and car display lot. In addition, the facility has received complete HVAC and electrical upgrades, as well as additional plumbing for added restrooms, and new elevators. A brand new, 48’x30’ service center features state of the art service bays and a service drive canopy.
HCCI performed a complete renovation of a 60 year old house into a retail store, wine tasting bar, and office space. Renovation included extensive specialty millwork, stone exterior to replace existing brick, a 12 foot wide wood deck enclosing three sides of building, and a stained concrete patio on bottom level.
An existing 20,000 SF warehouse and skate center was converted into a retail center for a bank, hardware store, and restaurant. The primary features of work include: new facade for existing structure, sitework, utilities, sidewalks, paving, parking lot expansion, landscaping and irrigation, grease traps and water quality unit, parking lot striping, new concrete pads, and dumpster enclosure.
HCCI has performed work as a Preferred Contractor for over one hundred CVS Pharmacy stores throughout the Southeastern region, including North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas. Most prototypical stores have been approximately 13,000 square feet. In addition to Preferred Contractor status, Owen Hardcastle was recognized as a Hurricane Hero for HCCI’s recovery work performed after the devastation of hurricane Katrina.

Courtyard by Marriott
Courtyard by Marriott in Goodlettsville consists of new construction of a seventy-four thousand square foot, four-story, one-hundred and twenty room hotel on a seven acre site. The structure is wood with a wood frame elevator shaft and wood frame stairwells; thin brick and EFIS exterior; EDPM roof. The hotel features the latest Marriott prototype design, indoor pool, and conference center. Interior finishes include carpet, VCT, and ceramic tile flooring; granite and marble countertops; wood veneer in lobby; and knockdown wall texture in guestrooms.
Red Mountain Bank
Red Mountain Bank was converted from an existing dry cleaning facility into a high-end banking center utilizing the design-build approach under a tight time frame of three months. Renovation included complete gutting of the structure, new roof installation, new MEP, new parking lot, new high-end interior spaces, and new storefront systems. Additionally, construction entailed coordination of non-traditional, high-tech banking systems and drive thru equipment.
Work performed on Serra Honda consisted of a complete renovation of an existing facility, including office area, new showroom, and service area for a total of 60,000 square feet. Construction also included new epoxy floor systems throughout, overhead door systems, and entry drive systems into show room and service area, block construction and exterior brick veneer. Additionally, construction included vehicle exhaust systems, installation of vehicle service equipment, new electrical, and locker room with shower facilities.
Shapiro Family Chiropractic & Wellness / Sips n Strokes
HCCI performed the simultaneous interior build out of two tenant spaces in the same shopping center ranging from 1600 to 2100 square feet in size. Work included new concrete floor in rear of space where new plumbing utilities where installed. Complete interior build out consisted of new framing and drywall, new Mechanical, Plumbing, and electrical,new interior finishes such as Carpet, VCT, painting, millwork, acoustical ceiling, and base.
