The new MTSU Dairy Farm, located on over 400 acres on Guy James Road in Murfreesboro, consists of a 20,000 square foot milking and housing facility supported by a 9,000 square foot farm maintenance shop, a 5,500 square foot hay barn, a 1,300 square foot commodity barn, two 4,000 bushel grain bins, and a new 2,700 foot concrete road to access the new barn. The new facility will offer state-of-the-art computerized equipment and greater functionality for cattle comfort. According to Dr. Warren Gill, Director of the School of Agribusiness and Agriscience, MTSU is the only school in the state where students milk the cows and process the milk for students.
